For the first time, IAP2 Canada brings its North American Conference and Gala to British Columbia.
From October 1 to 3, 2026, practitioners, leaders, and changemakers from across Canada and beyond will come together for a powerful moment of connection, learning, and celebration.
This is a shared space shaped by participation. A place where engagement is explored through practice, where perspectives meet, and where the work continues to evolve through those who carry it forward.
The conference takes place on the traditional territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw, grounding this experience in relationship, respect, and ways of knowing that continue to shape how engagement is understood.

Co-Creating the Future of Engagement
The 2026 conference identity, created by Ovila Mailhot, carries this forward through the image of two eagles facing one another. It represents a complete conversation. One where listening carries equal weight to speaking. One where every voice has a place at the table. To bring voices into decisions in ways that are meaningful. To create space for perspectives that are different. To hold dialogue with intention. The strength of engagement lives in that interaction.
Designed for engagement
The experience begins with the IAP2 Canada Gala, an evening of recognition and connection that sets the tone. The conference then continues across two days of programming, bringing together keynote perspectives, applied sessions, and meaningful exchange.Designed for engagement, the experience centres on being in the room, with a virtual option available for access to select sessions. Grounded in current practice, the program reflects how public participation is evolving across sectors, including Indigenous engagement and reconciliation, equity and inclusion, and youth perspectives. Sessions draw on real-world experience, addressing complexity, conflict, and informed decision-making.
